I know these ones:
BIS - best in show
BOS - best of opposite sex
BOV - best of variety

What is this
RIS?
RIOS?
I've seen another one with an R and I have NO clue what they stand for

any help?

I believe they do a reserve grand champion, which is useful for getting part of a leg if there are enough rabbits in the show...(I've been reading blogs again....)

I would think a reserve best of show and best of opposite sex.

Of course, until someone who SHOWS ACTIVELY answers..this is all supposition :D

The DRCBA awards Best and Reserve classifications (1st place & 2nd place). They don't have a Best of Opposite award, so both BIS and RIS can be the same gender. The same applies to Breed: (BOB & ROB)and Variety: (BOV & ROV)

I'm not sure what ROIS would stand for. I haven't seen that one.

To be honest I think that opposite sex is award is stupid. I have seen judges go nuts because they couldn't award the next best animal an award because it was bettered by its own sex. Therefore in some of the smaller shows where its still possible to get a leg, a really crappy doe (or buck) can get a leg, simply becaus it was the "best" of its gender. The DRCBA method is a little more fair to the animals present on that day.
