Our littlest Netherland Benjamin, has been peeing orange... I have been trying to see who it was and just found out today.... What I have found online says it is not a big deal but I just want to make sure... He is acting fine and eating and drinking fine.... Is it a big deal? Will it go away on its own or do I have to give him meds or anything to help him?

KatzNetherlands,
don't give Benjamin any meds.
What you are seeing is perfectly normal.
Rabbits can display a Myriad of colors
in their urine. It has to do with Tannins
in the forage that the feeds contain.
It is nothing to worry about.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

I agree with Ottersatin... absolutely nothing to worry about. Orange urine is common, as is red. With the wild cottontails around here, I've even seen green, blue and purple urine marks in the snow.

Oh wow.... a natural rainbow! LOL

Why would only one of my rabbits show it? He shares the same cage as the another rabbit and they all get fed the same thing and have the same layout in the cage... But he is the only one doing it....

I am not too worried, I just want to make sure he is okay.... He is one of my favorite little guys! :)
