is onion grass okay?? i keep hearing that its not okay and then its totally okay... so not sure. we have lots and lots and wanted to have grass feed rabbits, in moveable run, but i just wanted to make sure everything in our grass was okay.

Not sure what it is you mean by onion grass. Can you give us the botanical name? In general, any member of the onion family is not safe for rabbits.

You may be better off to keep the rabbits in stationary housing and cut the greens and bring them to the rabbits. It gives you better control of what plants they are getting and - unless you have many rabbits - likely does not take much more time than moving their tractors.

Onion grass is a type of wild onion and not safe for rabbits. Onion and garlic destroys red blood cells in most mammals and too much or long term feeding can cause anemia.

thank you! ill just have to cut grass and bring it to them

GArlic is usually fine-- Onion does not destroy red blood cells, but causes them to develop with 'Heinz bodies' whichinhibit the absorption of oxygen. The chemical that causes the Heinz bodies is cumulative, but is also used up-- once it clears the system, the new red blood cells are normal- Onion doesn't kill the animal the first daythey eat it-- the chemical must get into the bone marrow first, get used up. Most animals don't eat enough to cause enough RBCs to form without the oxygen carrying capacity.= to make them suffocate. If your dog or cat is diagnosed with onion toxicity, blood transfusions can be used until the chemical clears the system.
