My newest rabbits are shy and someone fearful. Would it help if I draped something over the cage so 3 sides are opaque? I'm thinking they might feel less vulnerable.
 
i find with nervous bunnies that just quietly going about your daily business is the best thing for them. Announce yourself. Let them see you. And eventually they will go "oh, nothing bad happens when she's around so I'll just chill out". Bribery works well too.
 
agreed and yes - give them a hidey spot - by draping the cages or by giving them a box ;)
