    Rabbit Manure For Yard?

Both of them can actually wiggle through them, they are Maltese/Papillion mixes and if I stack the pallets up/down they can actually climb it lol. I tried a normal fence and they either dug under it or climbed the wood pile (6FT high) and jumped it, so I stopped last year as 6FT jump isn't...

    Rabbit Manure For Yard?

I gotta find a new way to compost as my little rat dog mixes get into it and can leap/climb a sizable fence. I'm thinking I will make those 55 gallon turner type composters as I have the poles/wood just need to find a few reasonable 55 gallon barrels at a reasonable price. That would be a cool...

    Rabbit Manure For Yard?

Just curious if anyone has ever done this and how they went about spreading it? I plan to go Bermuda this year because of the brutal summers down in southern Missouri (hate to see the poor bastards in Arkansas this year) and we will be under water restrictions in the next year or so I wager so...

Rabbit Fur Removal / Hide Chew?

Ours tend to as well but can't handle the digestion....giving them two rabbit ears each is a 50/50 proposition with fur intact lol. Appreciate the help everyone :)

Rabbit Fur Removal / Hide Chew?

Probably not as I have two deep freezers packed full atm which is why I was thinking of doing a jerky mix, I have two little rat dogs so 18 hides would probably last them 3-6 months. Any suggestions on this front? Also I know that I need to remove the fat/meat off the hide but do I need to...

Rabbit Fur Removal / Hide Chew?

I'm not using the fur atm for any projects and I have 18 healthy little campers ready to go to camp and I heard you can use the hide for chews for dogs. I'm curious the best way to go about this, such as a easy way to remove the fur and if I need to flesh like with tanning? I figured I would rub...

    Realistic Price For Pelts

Just need a little bit of info from you veterans, if I was to sell pure white and pure black hides finished what would I realistically get in price? By finished I mean either A)tanned, stretched, cleaned, and oiled or B) just tanned and allowed to dry hard. I was thinking of selling to purchase...

    ID the lineage?

I did a typo, I have a New Zealand but it's black not white. I imagine that solves the issue there, the cali buck had red eyes however and the doe has black.

    ID the lineage?

That kind of sucks :/ I really liked how they looked as this is my first litter with ANY kind of color combo. However it would make sense considering some of the normal looking cali kits have grey swish marks in their fur.

    ID the lineage?

I got a bit of a shock on this last little pack of buns and I think my cali buck has some silvefox in him (his first round in the ring). Forgive the camera....its old and the internal clock is broken lol. I got this one from a NZB doe/Cali buck (4 liters were all black NZW kits till this one)...

    Aluminum Sulfate Question

Alum is about $7 for 4 pounds if that stuff I linked at the first post will work, if not they want around $10 a pound online. I do most my work outside behind the house, I use a collection bucket for majority then wash it down. For the tanning part I will be in my garage and I will hang in there...

    Aluminum Sulfate Question

Yeah they would basically scramble egg it and it would ooze out your nose if I recall. It would seem brain tanning is the future for me, alum is over priced, brains are expensive (they want $10 for 1 cow brain) and $30 for a EZ-100 is pricey too. (20 rabbit pelts I imagine?) I guess my only...

    Aluminum Sulfate Question

So I called the only leather shop in my area and the girl had ZERO clue what I was asking for, after I explained it she only had chemical (over priced) stuff for the process. Online its a good price but shipping normally kills the deal but I did find this, http://www.acehardwaresuperstore.com/17...

    What type of rabbit

You will have to baby them for a year to get them use to the temps. In the summer I took my AC raised Cali buck and moved him into a shady/windy location for the hottest parts of the day, I also wouldn't move him still his ears were moving rather quickly. When I first got him 80F = ears racing...

    Feeling a little sick inside.......

I know this might sound kind of morbid but any pictures? I only ask as should it ever happen to me I want to know what to expect. Sorry about your loss though, nothing quite as horrible as witnessing that. My grandfather is a seasoned hunter and almost passed out when he cut into a deer doe once...
