    Breeding Holland Lops

I think it may be these 8 similar looking rabbits (id 752 - 759) http://rabbitcolors.info/int/en/entries/B_D_eJ_En-_du/1.html maybe i should change there gene code.

    Breeding Holland Lops

If i remember correctly this Tri dutchs was from germany. There its not allowed to mix colors, so you have black tris with noting else. So if you want nice tris/japanese without need to look at agouti or fuss with smut, keep them beeing eJeJ ;-)

    Breeding Holland Lops

I disagree with this. It's only true for heterozygous eJ e ones. For true breeding eJeJ harlequins it doesn't matter, which A allele they have. eJ create receptors which make dark color all the time in dark parts. In yellow parts there are no Extension receptors at all, so they can not interact...

    Help with genotype

You could use http://rabbitcolors.info/ to lookup images with gene codes, but first read the help page to learn how to use the database!

Interesting colors from mixing my fiber line with the REW meat line

EJE is a mosaic of normal agouti + steel rather than yellow + black, so yes, they can have bands too. Again this nice guy:

    Harlequin angora color question

@Alaska Satin any change could you try to make the owner get a nice side image on a neutral background? I used to explain the color series using tan rabbits (and i still miss a black at ch one). Now i have the idea to use black harlequin for this :-)

    Is this a chestnut

Its strange that it looks "normal" steel rather then black with very little agouti hairs, considering it beeing ESe. Can this thread be moved to the genetics forum?

    Fawn? Rex

Do you by chance have a microscope? If yes, look at some hair if you can see uneven color distribution, which would say dilution.

Function of Agouti and Extension Genes - about Receptors and Pigment Types

Yes, but it behaves more like ES, so EEJ look like a mosaik of agouti and steel. And thats also, why agouti doesnt matter in eJeJ ones - there are no receptors in light parts. yes, f.e. in californians, checkered giants and NZW. And i think there is an american breed coming in blue/white/red...

There are rabbits withoutMC1R receptors, looking pale yellow:

The yellow of rusty back is in the pheomelanin band, which is normally white in chin.
