    Root crops for rabbits

    I did not get my mangel seed from Martin into the ground last year, but I'm sure it will grow well this year. Trying so hard to get so many things done here, and feel like nothing is moving forward. But I do so want to become more self-sufficient on the animal feeds. Think I'll go sort seeds...

    Comfrey - A Controversial Plant.

    I've fed comfrey to my rabbits every year except for last year (last year was the worst gardening year of my life so far). I don't feed it exclusively, but I'd say that, when I do feed, it makes up about 25% of the basket of greens/weeds I pick every other day or so in the Spring/Summer/Fall...

    plantain

    I was delighted to find plantain growing here when we moved, as I forgot to dig some up to take along (just in case). My rabbits love the stuff, too. I do everything I can to encourage it to grow.

    Great idea! The mulberry trees need some trimming, and I need to get something green and growing around here or I'll go stark barking mad.

    Celery?

    I grow celery (wow! it is WAY easier than I thought it would be), and I feed some to the rabbits. Not much, and not every day. As far as nutrition goes, the stuff I grow myself is LOTS greener and tastier than the stuff at the grocery store. I can only assume that greener = better, at least it...
