    Bald spots?

My favorite doe has developed some bald spots and I'm not sure of the cause. At first I thought it might be a combination of heat and the fact her babies were sitting on her shoulders all the time and might have peed on her. I'm thinking not so much anymore. I originally put blue-kote on them...

    Standard Rex Accommodations...

My does have 30x36 or 24x48. My last three litters were 11, 12, and 13 from three different does. I like to make sure they have some room in their cages! They are in these for summer to be inside my shop. I live in Arizona so it is too hot for them outside anymore. My bucks are in 30x30. Come...

    Post Your Rex Pictures!

Here are a couple of mine. Maggie the magpie is from my last litter. Ended up with two magpies, a harlequin, and a broken tri as well as a few others. I just got Sophie the broken tri female. She is a big sweetheart! I don't seem to have updated photos on my others. I will have to fix that!

    My doe is shy... Help?

I bribe some of mine with black oil sunflower seeds. Can't feed too many or it can cause some weight gain, but 1/2 Tsp or so every day or two works. Mine now demand them and run to greet me when I walk by cages. Good luck, Pik

Brought home more bunnies...Harlequins! POPPLE UPDATE!!

Congrats and good find! I love the harlequin colors. Just bred some harlequins and magpies, though of the standard rex variety. Was very excited as I think they are beautiful. I look forward to seeing pics of gorgeous kits! Hopefully you get showable ones early on. :-) Pik

    Standard Rex for meat?

Good to know! I'm thrilled with the breed either way. I get groomed daily while I am feeding and watering and have one doe who demands her daily petting and cuddles before I leave. I haven't had other types of rabbits, but I would definitely recommend Rex's based on my limited experience.

    Standard Rex for meat?

Hey, I raise the standard Rex, though am still relatively new. My first batch grew to about 4-4.5 lbs by the 8 week mark, so smaller than the 5 lbs I see people aiming for. The fur is amazing, though! I haven't learned to tan the hides yet, but that's the next project to learn. I am fine waiting...

I went with rex as well. Was too impatient to wait days for auctions to end, lol. So went the starter bunny route. Just got two does, though. Paid a breeding fee so I didn't need a buck :-)

It charges you daily for feed. One coin per rabbit I think. Just cheeper overall to buy in bulk.

Good personality traits for pet rabbit?

Not sure on bunny cues, but I would go with a male for a pet. Does can get a bit temperamental when they hit breeding age.

    Opinion on number of coverings

So, my doe, Calli is being temperamental. She had been a total sweetheart since she first got pregnant. I took that to mean she was getting hormonal again. Her kits are six weeks old and it is about the time I wanted to breed her anyway. I figure she can get a couple weeks of quiet between...

    Sexing young stock

Awesome! Good to know. That litter is all males then I think. That was what was confusing me...They all looked the same! Thanks :-)

    Sexing young stock

Okay, my first litter is hitting six weeks tomorrow and I am trying to get the hang of sexing them. I can easily see the difference in my adult stock. It's these babies who are confusing me!!! If I put a little pressure this one looks like a doe, but if I put more pressure it looks like a buck...
