I was thinking the same thing, these look more like chinchilla light than chinchilla dark. Chinchilla light is sable, but pedigrees and people can get confused by the lingo

I have a kit that I really expected to be a BEW but their eyes opened enough today that I'm pretty confident in saying it's a REW That just kind of got me to thinking of which is dominant? If a kit is both cc AND vv which would be expressed? Or would you get purple eyes or something?

Oh. My. God. He is gorgeous!!!!!!!! I so hope I get a sallander baby now!!!!!! They really don't have enough fur to tell yet all I can really tell right now is I'm 99% sure they aren't pure white. I will update as I can tell more - thank you so much!!!!

Sorry I'm a little confused, are you saying that the white ones with the darker eyes are brokens with very low markings, or they are cali's carrying the broken gene that just don't have all their color yet? I know that they won't be fully colored yet I'm just not sure if the fully white ones...

@Alaska Satin @judymac Well, she is definitely broken!! Won't know about chocolate either way for another generation. 9 kits, I got 2 broken, 1 chin, 6 that look REW or Cali, or a mix of the two - dad is cchdc and mom is ch_ so could be either. Do calis have dark eye circles at birth? One...
