    $3.99 for rabbit meat!

My thought was they probably sell the back legs to restaurants. I think the back legs are the best part. There are a LOT of Caribbean restaurants around here. I haven't been to any yet, but seems like rabbit could be on the menu. I have been to a French Cafe and they had rabbit on the menu...

    $3.99 for rabbit meat!

You are not kidding! I do miss my fur babies  It's a whole new world here, but I will make the best of it. I guess you're right about the price. I figured it included the loin which seems to be the most desired (I find it hard to keep from being dry). If I buy some, I will cook the...

    $3.99 for rabbit meat!

Hey everyone! I sold my entire rabbit setup in Idaho and now I'm surrounded by boxes in a 4th floor apt in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm actually in a area just outside Ft. Lauderdale called Lauderhill. There are tons of Jamaicans and other Islanders here. I went to a local Meat and Fish market and was...

I do have Pedigrees on the Rexes. Charmin's grandfather (Mr. Bean's GGfather), Orchard's Pongo had 6 legs. Mr. Beans GGrandmother had 2 legs. The next generation back there are 3 more rabbits that had legs (2,1,2). Also, Mr. Bean has multi Tom James lines in him 4 generations back. Charmin...

Selling out in Idaho (Moving to Florida)

Trinity - My husband is leaving next Wednesday and might be able to go that way. What is the name of your town? I weighed the NZWs: Sophia is 11lbs 10oz, her Son Harvey is 11lb 3.5oz and her daughter Daisy (who still has a litter of three in with her) is 10lb 1.5oz. Her kits are: 3lb 2.5oz...

    How to debone a rabbit.

I saw and still can't believe it. That was awesome! I love the smile on his face at the end. For sure you need a good sharp knife. Lacomo - Great Job! Now I'm really going to have to try this.

    9 week old nursing!

I have one rabbit from two litters born 9 weeks ago. I sold all the others to the feed store at 6 weeks old. Since I only had one of this age group and wasn't going to re-breed the mom (stopped for summer), I decided to just leave them together. I was in the barn earlier, just sitting and...

Litter of 12 - Cool Markings

Here are the pics. I don't really know the standard for Dutch, so I wouldn't know if any had correct marking or not. But I do remember in our discussion about the BEW genes and Vienna marked, that Dutch figured in there also. BTW, I'm pretty sure that Frank is DEAF. I mentioned it to...

Litter of 12 - Cool Markings

I bred my NZW, Sophia to my new Beveren, Frank. She is 16 months old and 11lbs. He is 4 yrs old and just over 7lbs. She is difficult to get bred because she is so dominant. I don't think he covered he more than once and I was expecting a small litter. I placed my hand in and it felt like a...

Opinions needed on new feed available to me

Just found out this custom feed was $11 for a 50# bag so that makes it even better. Then I found out that their regular price for the 15% was $9.69 for 50# bag and you don't need to buy a large qty! I think I will start giving my adults the 15% and give the mothers with kits and fryers the 18%.
