Nest Box Heaters- how and when?

Where have you seen nest box heaters? I didn't know they exist. I wouldn't put them under the rabbits or under box. Because a) They'll get soaked in urine, as it drains from the box, I am guessing, and b) They can't get away from the heat if they're too warm on it. I was thinking of building one...

Trouble dispatching with captive bolt gun (graphic photos)

I had the same difficulty with my bolt gun. I was so excited by the more humane way of killing, or so I thought. I was using the broomstick. I am very happy with that method, other than the pooling of blood at the shoulder (even though I cut head off super quick and bleed out fast). That and...

REW doe's background: REW, castor, black, Cali, blue, otter, broken Black otter buck's background: black, blue, castor, otter, broken Doe kindled 5 whites. Does this seem weird to you? I don't see any white in the buck's pedigree. Yes it can be farther back and can make white pop up...

    AMBER REX help please!

Thank you! That's what I thought. There isn't any chocolate in my castor's pedigree, so my plan is to breed him with a choc carrying doe. But only half the offspring would carry chocolate right? Perhaps I should breed to a choc doe and keep a castor from the litter to breed back to choc parent...

hard boiled eggs--color and ease of peeling

Steam the eggs for 12 min (adjust time according to size of egg and desired yolk hardness). Remove and immediately into ice water. Overcooking turns colour off. Leaving them sit without shocking in cold water, will allow them to keep cooking in the shell, making the colour off. Once you steam...

    meaford results???

You were at Meaford? That was a very cold rainy day! I wasn't thinking and wore sandals, and didn't dress very warm. So cold....I can't remember much, but don't think I got any wins at that show. But I did very well at the Komoka show this past Saturday. :D

Oh No!! Split penis overload! What do I do?!

I have 2 doe sisters, 1 doe that shares the same sire, and a completely unrelated doe. They have all had normal litters for me this Spring, nothing wrong with the kits. I purchased a buck from New York (I am in Canada) that sired litters will all 4 does this Summer. There are a lot of juniors...

    I am way too excited.

Last weekend in Syracuse, NY at Grand finals show, I picked up 5 Himalayan rabbits to breed for pet and show! I am so excited to try this breed. They are one of the oldest breeds, and one of the friendliest. One of the bucks is already a Grand Champion. Yippee this is exciting! I have 4 blacks...

Now is the time to sell your "bunny berries"!

Here is one way of separating the berries from the undesirables: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO9hq6YWgms I mulch my gardens though, and the straw, etc all goes on top with the bunny berries to help mulch. I do not till, only layer, so this works great!
