    where to get hay

I've found hay on craig's list. Just put in your city or area name and then search for hay in the FARM & GARDEN section of FOR SALE.

How many bales of hay to get

A little more info: I'm planning on buying 3 does (sisters) and 1 buck this summmer or fall. If the does are 8-10 weeks old when I get them, they wont have litters until spring or early summer most likely. I 'll be able to buy first cutting hay by then so I'm thinking of buying enough for 4...

    Breeding schedule in a colony

A little more info: I thinking about putting the buck in the colony on a 4 weeks in , 6 weeks out, kinda schedule. I've read posts that say the buck can interfere with kindling. I'd take him out a few days before the does due date. I wonder, wouldn't the mom's milk be even higher in protein?

There are two small windows as well. Dehumidifiers are not cheap to run, but until I see how things go I may have...

new to rabbits, considering a colony in the basement

I'm thinking about raising a meat breed of rabbit in my basement. Anyone have suggestions for easy cleaning for this set up. The basement floor is concrete and I would prefer not to have the rabbits on a wired floor. The space is about 5' x 14' and there will be at least one divider to seperate...
