one of my does lost a whole litter, and im wondering how long it takes before she will dry up? will allowing kits from another litter to nurse from her help prevent mastitis?

i had a doe tht looked like this turned out she had a peice of hay under her eyelid, took one persont o hold her down while i pulled it with tweezers and then treated with vetericyn gel. she was fine within a day or so...check the kit for anything in the eye cause my doe scratched her face up...

I just got her a 5 weeks ago and she kindled as soon as I got her home, unexpectedly. I got a nest box I time and she had 2 and lost 1. Re bred immediately and only got one. I'll give her some rest then try again in December
