garden is in full production, canning loads of tomatoes and green beans, and quite a bit of summer squash.

Looks like a good harvest and a convenient set-up for processing.
Here we're just picking the last of the strawberries, almost done freezing peas but they'll keep producing for a while. Tiny green beans and the first few small summer squash. Waiting for tomatoes to ripen but still have all we need canned from last year and even a few dried Juliets left to go with the beautiful lettuce as each succession planting starts producing. Waiting for cakes and peppers and sweet onions to come along to add to our salads. Found the first few ripe raspberries (growing wild in the hedgerows and field edges) this week.

This looks like the first major test of your "canning kitchen". I would guess that your wife was glad to use the regular kitchen without all the canning/prep getting in her way.

PS. that pressure cooker reminds me more of something I would see on Cody's Lab (Chemistry/physics YouTube channel) rather than something in a kitchen.
You have to do the most good for the most. You must remember that a few won't make it. Don't be ashamed to shed a tear for the ones lost along the way, we will not hold it against you. Just remember "the herd goes on".
