I have a Jersey Woolie male, named Trufflebee, that is approx 1 year old. Full male. Nice siamese color. Lovely wool. He'd really like a new home somewhere that he'd get a lot of attention. VERY affectionate.

I've no idea if he's showable, although he seems to meet the standards.

If anyone is interested, just let me know! I live in South Central Wisconsin, but can drive a couple hundred miles to deliver him.

(If he doesn't have a new home by late spring, he may take a trip to Canada....just sayin' )

Jersey Woolies sound delightful. They're smaller than Angoras, right? Why would you want to get rid of it? Ontario might be a bit of culture shock, though I love the bookstores there. Oh, that's right, rabbits don't read! ;)

;) He's a real sweet heart, and doesn't require much grooming (because of all the guard hair) and give a nice amount of wool. He just doesn't fit in with my breeding program. I picked him up from someone to whom he'd been given for her little girl (6 year old), and she REALLY needed him gone 'cuz the girl wasn't up to keeping a rabbit.

yes, they're only about 3lbs. but have quite a bit of wool.

they are smaller than angoras - and therefore produce less fibre than other angoras ..

in my experience they are VERY sweet rabbits though :)

Ah, my crazykins are asleep. My daughter wants to know if you're really sending the bunny to Canada and whether or not it needs a passport like she and her brother do now. (Hey, I'm just the messenger sometimes! She remembers when they used to be able to go with my showing my passport and their birth certificates.) Otherwise she wants to know what a "siamese colored" Jersey Woolie looks like because we couldn't google one up before I sent them off to bed because I let them stay up till 11 last night when the ball dropped (after all, it was midnight somewhere, right?). ;) I can try to google one up for the kids before we head out doing errands tomorrow morning. They totally wore me out today since they didn't get enough sleep last night.

There is a lovely picture of Anntann's JW Trufflebee in the gallery in the Meet My Rabbits section.

http://rabbittalk.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=2&image_id=11&view=no_count That's a link to a pic (from here) of Trufflebee.

Traveling to Canada...GOOD QUESTION!
No, the rabbits don't need a passport :) Since there are so many shows back and forth between Canada and the US, and since rabbits aren't known to carry infectious diseases, they can go back and forth just by the owner taking them along.

He'll only go up to Canada if I still have him when I go up to meet Brody, Maggie, and other Ontario people sometime this Spring. Trufflebee is a lovely rabbit, but just doesn't fit in with my plans for the rabbitry. I don't have a lot of time to play with him, so he's kind of lonely, and I'm looking for someone who will want him as a pet and fiber bunny.

Ladysown, I wouldn't miss meeting you for all the tea in china! I just can't keep track of who's where in Canada, Ontario, or even Wisconsin, for that matter.

We probably need one of those Google maps that show people's locations. :)
