Can you guess what it is? After doing all the work and finally turning your hide into a buttery soft, fluffy, beautiful pelt?

Its CUTTING IT!!!

It is soooo hard to take scissors or a knife to all that work!

To risk messing all that up with the wrong snip or incorrect measuring!

I keep laying out my THIRTY done hides to try to get a start on the first lap throw and then putting them all away again. :oops: I did manage to cut ONE not very good (young castor doe culled for not having good enough fur) castor hide into trim for my slipper shoes and one bog standard white NZ into trim for the wet felt Christmas stockings I made this year but cut up all the very best ones for the blanket?

Not yet! :roll:

HONESTLY. i have these three astrex pelts that 2CrazyFools gave me and i've been putting off splitting them for ages because i don't want to :( too pretty ;w;

though i will say - scissors are NOT the way to cut a pelt. you should be using a razor blade and cutting ONLY the skin, never the fur. that way you don't break and of the hairs and it will turn out nicer :)
