Hi, I am new to this forum...I recently moved to a farm in upstate New York and a friend asked me if I could take her bunnies, two really cute Dutch ones, one black and one blue (I was told that’s the official color, though I would say gray). They are both male and they seem to be getting Along. We keep them as pets.

Anyway, I have the bunnies in a fenced in calf pen in the barn, about 5x10 in size. I laid down hay on the cement floor and there is a hutch in there.

My question is how often should I change the hay in the pen. The bunnies seems to have decided which corner they are going to use as a bathroom. Should I just clean that corner? Or the entire thing?

Thanks. I look forward to learning more about bunnies.

just clean the wet spots , and add a little more bedding to those areas.
Having some "dry" poop in their bedding is no big deal,
- come spring, you can change the bedding in the pen, and compost it for the garden.
With only 2 rabbits in the pen, you will seldom need to change all the bedding.
