What I've been doing, Logan, is I have my thread page in one tab, and the gallery in another. In the gallery tab, I go to the first picture that I want to post in a thread, and copy the "Image-URL". Then, in the thread tab, I place the cursor where I want the image and click the "Img" button, which inserts image tags. I then paste the URL I copied in between the two tags.

Then I just go back to the gallery page, navigate to the next picture I want, and do it all over again. :)

There could be an easier way, but that's what has been working for me! Hope it helps! :D

Hmmm... :hmm: Could it be a firewall situation? Or do you need some help using the gallery page? Or maybe you can get a Photobucket account and upload them there, and link to them here. That's what my husband does.

It appears that none have succeeded up to this point... I don't see any images from you yet. I wonder if it is a conflict between your computer and the site, or if it is a problem with the site. Trying to think how to tell.

I figured it out, the images were to big, but I have like 30 that I want to post and I don't have the time to crop them all, is there anyway I can downsize them all at the same time?

Here are links to a couple of free programs that do batch resizing. They are on MajorGeeks, which tests EVERYTHING to make sure there are no viruses or other nasties in them.

ArtResize (no reviews yet): http://majorgeeks.com/ArtResize_d6047.html
ArtResize is a free software for batch resizing, converting and renaming your digital photos and images from and to JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and GIF formats. The program will help you to prepare your digital photos to upload and publish them in the Internet or send via e-mail.

Features:
• 100% Free for home use. No spyware, adware, banners etc.
• Resize, rename and convert images in batch mode
• The most fastest image resizing algorithm
• Supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and BMP formats
• Supports Watermarks
• Variable options and settings for advanced users
• Built-in size templates: iPod, iPhone, Facebook, DVD etc.
• Configurable compression / resolution ratio
• Load / save settings and image lists
• Clean, easy to use interface
• Small installation file ~ 2MB
• Portable version is also available
• Supports Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Seven (32 and 64 bit)

BIMP Lite (rating 5/5, 2 votes): http://majorgeeks.com/BIMP_Lite_d5500.html
BIMP Lite is a small and simple batch processor for image files, that allows you to perform various functions on multiple images. It can be used to create thumbnail images from your pictures, add a prefix/postfix (with meta variables), rename using a sequential number, change the case of filenames, replace/remove spaces & underscores, flip or rotate images and also apply anti-aliasing, inverse, greyscale and bevel effects. The thumbnail resizing allows you to force a specified width or height and keep the proportions, or define fixed image dimensions. Images can have text overlayed on them at any corner or side, as well as the center of the image. This text can include meta variables such as image height, width, number of colours etc. In addition, the program can also convert the file format to GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, MIFF, TIFF, PCX or TGA. All of the actions can be performed individually, or combined. BIMP now also includes an FTP client, so you can automatically output images to a remote server via the File Transfer Protocol.

Main Features:
- Resize to pixels or percentage
- Prefix Filename
- Suffix/postfix Filename
- Remove Spaces/Underscores
- Replace Spaces/Underscores
- Rename with a sequential (incrementing) number
- Change case - upper, lower, title, first letter, toggled.
- Antialias
- Bevel
- Rotate
- Inverse/Negate Colours
- Greyscale (convert to shades of grey)
- Flip Horizontally
- Flip Vertically
- Change Format
- Stamp with text (overlay text)
- Output to FTP server
- Recurse Directories

There are probably more of them on the site... I just found those quickly. :) It does not appear that they crop; they resize.

I resized a few, and it says this when I try to post in the gallery.

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 66060288) (tried to allocate 16000 bytes) in /home/midnight/public_html/rabbittalk.com/gallery/includes/functions_image.php on line 164

I'll see what MidnightCoder has to say. May take a while... he's been working nights lately.

Hi Logan,

You're getting that error from trying to upload images over the 2 megabyte limit. You really need to start resizing these before you upload them, as the ones you posted here will lag out anyone with a slow connection or an old computer for far too long.

Here's some suggestions from another post I made on the board here:

If you don't have an adequate graphics program installed, you could try something like this: http://www.resize2mail.com/advanced.php

There's about a million freeware graphics apps available. The GIMP will let you do just about any common task that you'd use photoshop for, and it's free. IrfanView is another good one. A personal favourite of mine is Paint.net, which will also let you do most common tasks, and it's extremely lightweight, good for older computers. For that you'll need to have the .net framework installed first, but most Windows computers already have it.

You can check out some others here, here and here.

I highly recommend Paint.net for this, as it's lightweight and easy to use. Try to be sure the longest side of your image is no more than 1920px, because that's the largest common screen size right now. They don't even need to be that big. 1280px wide would be plenty.

EDIT: Images now have to be no more than 1920x1200px. This was intended all along, but a setting got messed up somewhere along the way.

I use GIMP (used it to make Bunny-Wan Kenobi's avatar) and Irfanview all the time, and I have a friend who uses Paint.net. These are great programs. :)
