Yes I know.. I double posted. Wasn't sure the best location for this as MOST are free to good home. Please delete the post that isn't where it should be. :) thanks.

These pigs are in excellent shape.
Can't tell you a whole lot about them other then they are healthy.

They came out of a rescue situation so I'm merely looking to get them homed and out of my house.

The boars are free, the females are $2-5 each. Take a bunch, take one or two. it's all good.

Going to Kitchener on the 30th so could meet someone there, or could meet someone in London. Let's talk, let's get these pigs into new homes. :) Willing to drive a bit to get them into good homes but also want them gone, so they'll be here at least until Friday (24th) otherwise probably going to auction if I can fit the time in.

the females, all are smooth coats and crested.

Aww, I had a guinea pig for a few weeks as a kid. My parents were THOSE kind of people--buy a pet with no understanding of animals and then return it as soon as the pig nipped or the dog chewed or the cat clawed...always amid the tears of us kids. I never understood what the heck they thought was going to happen?

Good for them! We are looking for one for my 11yo. They are so sweet and friendly.

hint: either get them when they are young and handle them ALOT, or get them from someone who getting rid of a pet who also handled them alot.

I never ever thought that a guinea pig would bite (unless totally provoked) until I met these pigs. The gals were good, not an issue with them at all but TWO of the unhandled, unsocialized males were a bit of a bother. One is going to a rescue (didn't picture him as I assumed that would be his end) the other when to a home where the guy actually takes in unwanted pigs and doesn't mind their temperament. Has actually managed to colony unrelated males together without it being a major issue.

If they bite we automatically treat for mites. 9 times out of 10 when a pig bites it's in discomfort and well over half the ones that come through the rescues I know develop symptoms of mites eventually. When I was taking in unwanted pigs we often just treated them for mites irregardless of symptoms or not since it's so hard to diagnose in pigs (scrapings are often inaccurate) and so easy to treat with a couple drops of ivermectin. Every pig I've gotten that bit gave it up within weeks after mite treatment and proper handling instead of squishing them or letting them hang like kids might do. We also let them run around 12x12 horse stalls all summer, every summer reproducing while I was growing up and when we went to handle the offspring that had never been touched we never had a problem. They were wiggly but I have never been bit by a pig that wasn't in pain or itchiness for some reason. We sold them off at the end of the year back to our original pigs and everyone made great pets out of them despite their wild start to life. When I was really little we actually had guinea pigs living in your fenced backyard and under the very low porch that only pigs fit under. They could fit through the chainlink fence but showed surprising intelligence in knowing that it was an unsafe thing to do and only did it to avoid capture before slipping back in the fence a few feet down. Even with several acres to run when we collected them after the first snow every winter they would tame right down and we never got bit.
