75 spam messages in three days. Even using the block filter. I find it annoying to have my inbox filled with messages saying I have a message that is spam.

I dislike shutting off comments as it means legitimate comments can't get through, but since hardly anyone comments I suppose it's not a huge loss.

I wish I could figure out why this blog gets hits by spam so much. I've a few other blogs that get hit on the odd occasion, but this is excessive.

well...went to close comments and couldn't figure out how to do that so I tweaked my settings a bit. No comments allowed on posts older than 21 days, see if that solves the problem. :)

Try setting your blog to only allow comments by logged in members of RT. This is the default setting (I saw to that when I set it up originally) because I figure, 90%+ of commenting is going to be people already on this site, right? If they're not, well, they can register. A lot of blogs require their own registration to post comments for just this kind of reason. At least here someone only needs to register once to be able to comment on all the blogs (and use the forum).

thank you david I've added that option as well. if it cuts down on the spam YEAH, not like it will change the lack of response i get to most posts. :)
