the short answer is yes.

the long answer is here: http://www.nockrabbits.com/LineBreedingChart.html

it explains how to maintain genetic diversity and seperate lines for 3 generations using just 2 starting rabbits.

When I hear killed through the bottom of the cage that makes me think of raccoons. I assume you tightened up your wire fence or door or whatever you have?

Have a good day!

Awe, sorry to hear about your lose. We had two stray dogs come and break throught a cage with just a little polish in it. But the aweful thing was I heard it all and couldn't get to it in time. The sound of that baby still haunts me. Now all cages are 4 feed off the ground. Not just 1.5 feet. Lesson learned.

A big dog can still reach. I had 2 german shepherds get some of mine years ago. Now my hutches all have double floors, one of cage wire for the rabbits, and one of 2x4 woven fence wire a few inches lower as a "dog excluder".

They do have double floors. They would have to make a big fuss. We also have traps set with fresh bait. Hehe and the Gun sitting by my window.
