It doesn't look to impressive right now since it's rained brown maple keys for the past week.

Image
The front middle garden. This garden is a work in progress. It's like less then a year old.

Image
The "what the heck were they thinking" garden. It's a jumbled mess of shade and full sun plants of varying sizes planted with no rhyme or reason. We're in the process of fixing it up.

Image
The Hedge garden. Cats have done a number to it. We're cracking out mothballs soon.

Image
Hedge garden different view.

Image
Veggy garden. View of my primitive teepees for my sugar peas. Beats and turnips are to the right of the picture.

Image
Closest to the screen is were I just planted corn, furthest away is 5 varieties of lettuce intermingled with each other. Infront of the cedar is where the carrots are.

Image
Along the back of this garden is sunflowers (about an inch high right now). A couple youngin' trees. The end clsoest to the parsley is were the corn is. On the other side of the patch is bush beans, and the rest is empty waiting for tomatoes and my giant pumpkin plants.

Image
One of the back gardens. It has some ornamental grasses, and lilies that were just planted in it, and the curly willow.

Image
The wildflower garden, with the giant weed that is too impressive to get rid of. It's name is Juarez.

The wonders of rabbit poo.... makes your garden grow and the makes the weeds grow even bigger hahaha

__________ Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:58 am __________

Actually behind Juarez and that young manitoba maple behind him is a stand of a plant called Japanese Knotweed. It is a bamboo and grows about 10 feet tall from the ground each year. It was brought over from England in the early 1800's as food for the military, but was one time in the Royal Botanical Gardens list as an ornamental for country properties. That is untill they realized it was pretty invasive! The young shoots in spring are better than asparagus! But I keep forgetting to get them at the right time and this year everything is about 2-3 weeks ahead because of the heat. :D

Lovely! Makes me long for spring. And thank you for putting a name to the evil bamboo stuff that's trying to take over my back yard. My mum runs a perrenial business, so I had fun trying to identify the plants that I recognized.
