Hello :)

I was wondering if anyone used electric clippers to shear their english angoras..if so what brand do you find that works the best?

Do the rabbits mind the sound?

Thanks :)

It's not necessarily the brand of clippers but the size and sharpness of the blade used.

I've never sheared an angora rabbit but I have done lots of long haired cats which I believe have a somewhat similar textured fur and found that at least a #7F blade or shorter is needed or else the blade cannot catch the fur or it gets clogged up

Keep in mind that the higher the number on the blade the closer the blade cuts the fur so a #3 leaves the fur about 3/4 inch long while a #40 is right at the skin and normally only uses at veterinary surgery sites to prevent fur contamination

A lot of angora breeders like the #10 as well.

There are some clippers they don't recommend, because the motors seem to blow. Angora fiber can be as thin as 11 microns, as soft as cashmere.
