We tried breeding our daughters bunny, she bred. But first time moms, I learned once before. Always have a back up mom.
Daughters bunny didnt take, but one of our good experienced moms.. she took lol go figure.

She is a broken chin, bred to buster(harli HL) . Only used him because he needed an easy girl/experience.

Well we have 5 really big n pudgy kits today, I can see the difference with the ears already, so cute n big!! But... it looks like they are harli marked. How is that possible? As far as I know, my meat mutts dont cary for harlequin. I have pics but cant for the life of me remember what everyone has suggested I sign up for and use..

I remembered LOL pics below :)

Even tho this is just a basic broken, we've never had one with this many cute dots, ever.. busters got some cool Gene's:)

Mom is a broken chin or broken squirrel I forgot lol flemish/satin/mini rex (Heinz 57 but she's so purdy I love her)
Dad is a blue/fawn harli holland lop.

I would have assumed the kits would be carriers for harli because of dad. I dont know how on earth mom had that gene.

Sylvia's mom is Ruby. Ruby is a solid grey flemish/satin mix, I posted pics before of her and no one could agree on a color, some thought opal, some thought squirrel, some said smutty..(So I just say grey lol)

Sylvia's dad was thumper, a Charlie mini rex tort.

Sylvia has been bred several times with brothers, half brothers and never produced anything even remotely harli looking.

Shes actually a retired meat mutt girl, shes just our pet now but I knew she is a great mom. I didn't want to chance our daughters doe being a bad first time mom. I had one bad 1st time mom and no other does with a litter, heartbreaking to watch. So now when I breed first timers, I make sure to breed a good mom too.

I really only want to produce purebreds these days. Friendly, pure bred, healthy pet bunnies. Now.. I got more Heinz 57s lol but they sure are cute!!! Just hope I can find homes for them.. they might look funny being such different breeds lol

__________ Mon Apr 23, 2018 12:14 am __________

Hopefully this is the right link..

White marking down the face is something I've never had in my litters. It's so cute!

Looks like harlequins. Both parents don't need to carry it if one carries non-extension (red, tortoise, frosty, ermine, etc) instead

Ohhhhhhhhh ty SableSteel!! I didn't know that!!! I thought they both had to carry for it. Do you know any websites that explain this further?

__________ Mon Apr 23, 2018 9:11 pm __________

Getting some fur/color :)
