this is my sooty fawn buck he is about 5 months old. Can you tell me what you think of him? Especially head/crown wise. Thank you.

Unless the picture is way off....he's a black tortoise not sooty fawn. He looks like he's going through the 'ugly' phase that hollands get, needs time to grow out for a better idea of the good/bads on him for me.

I'm not a Holland expert, but I do agree that that's a black tort.

My 6mo Holland lop doe has one ear lopped, the other is always up. Is that genetic or what?
Your guy looks cute, even in the 'ugly' phase.

He does look like that his crown is a bit too far back. Not much though. With a correct crown the ears will fall right behind the eyes. His are just a tad bit further behind the eyes. I have found a wonderful website that discusses the crown. I don't know if I am able to link to this forum but if you would like to see it you can PM me. :) I would say Tort as well. Once he molts all the way I bet you will see quite a change in his color. He is nice looking. He has nice spoon shapes ears that are my favorite!

He has the most wonderful temperament and hoping his crown isn't too slipped once he grows, i was kinda hoping it was just me being over critical (wishful thinking)lol.

I think Black Tort is called Sooty Fawn in the UK and Australia, correct? He's cute and he is a bit gangly right now but looks very promising! He actually has a very nice crown front to back and side to side width is nice. It does look a little far back but that may change as his head gets bigger. He has nice open ears now, so thats a good sign.
