Comfrey is a controversial plant. It has been used medicinally for at least 2000 years and has also had extensive use as an animal feed. Due to recent evaluations of this plant, it is important to learn about it before deciding whether or not to add it to your rabbits' diet.

I've fed comfrey to my rabbits every year except for last year (last year was the worst gardening year of my life so far).

I don't feed it exclusively, but I'd say that, when I do feed, it makes up about 25% of the basket of greens/weeds I pick every other day or so in the Spring/Summer/Fall.

The chickens enjoy it as well. So far, we've had no adverse effects on the rabbits. In fact, now that I am thinking about it, I didn't have problems with the breeders until after I d/c'd the comfrey.

Could be a coincidence, but it may be something I should investigate further.
