A pile of ears. I have no idea why they decided to cram next to the straw box instead of in it.

If you mean the mostly white balls of fur they are blue himis out of a black mini rex doe and oddly marked himi netherland buck. It was the only buck my mini rex doe would agree to breed with and not scream like she was being murdered. I think they turned out pretty cute but I'm not sure what I'm doing with them. We got 2 does and 1 buck like that and then lost 1 doe in a colony accident. About a month back they scaled a 3' high cage (I've learned to put a roof on everything), fell 6' down in to the colony, and 2 were found dead. I don't know if they failed to find the water, injured themselves in their attempt at freedom, or the does were being too territorial and smashed them.

2 of the does were getting rather violent until one of the checkered giants big enough to stand up to everyone else had a litter and her kits started running about. Now everyone seems to have chilled and I turned the half netherlands and full mini rex kits loose without further issues. I culled a few bucks so that I can cage some does if they get like that again but I'm still not sure what triggered the string of violence. They all seem content and are back to lounging and grooming each other.

I was thinking those merle looking ones were Champagne D' Argents - they are mini rex and ND crosses? AWWWW! Wow! :D

Lovely bunnies Akane! And what a beautiful colony you have!

Hi, akane- no, not the babies- you have 2 does (?) that look similar. In the last photo one is in the greyish litter pan or crate bottom, and the other is to her left lying to the right of the black bin. They appear to have the nose marking of a Ca., but I can't get a good look at the rest of the bunny... they almost look like they ran through ashes or something, and they just look like a really cool color to me. Any chance of better pics of those 2, and what are they?

Your babies are adorable also- I'd gladly take your curly kits!

Yea the silver ones are champagnes. The nose doesn't quite silver. This is the original buck and doe.

There's a bunch of pics of young ones going through the silvering process here http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v244/ ... offspring/

Wow, how neat! So they are born black and then silver out- I like them with the dark noses too. Is it possible that as they go through more molts the noses will silver too?
