Depends, do you want long and plush or short and velvety? I love my soft, plush Silver Fox coats & I love my short dense velvety Rex coats, which happen to come in a plethora of colours

If their texture is correct, you cannot beat a satin for softness. Problem with them anymore is that so many breeders over the years have bred in so many other breeds trying to improve something about body type and it's negatively impacted coat texture.

Depends on what you want.
Why not have all three. Those breeds can't be beat for fur quality, that's what they were developed for.

I have a French lop rex cross and her fur is unreal, thick and so soft its like duck down.
Planning to cross a few other buns with rex and see how the fur feels.
