At what age are coat types evident?

I've posted here previously about my 8 surprise babies. Mom and Dad are Dutch crosses, but somehow Mama is long haired all over. Statistically, half the kits should be long haired and half normal. I thought it would be evident who is fluffy around 3 weeks, but right now they are almost 3 weeks old but they all just look like tiny balls of floof. When do their coat types usually fill in?

Wow cute babies. ,give them another couple weeks . Stats or not they may also be short haired?or have slightly longer hair

If mom is long haired but dad isnt.. then that means the kits will have normal fur but be carriers for long hair. Only way you would have produced kits with long hair is if dad had long fur or the hidden gene for it.

Generally by around 6-8 weeks you should be able to tell. It can take that long to be able to tell a long haired kit from one that is just really fuzzy.
