Bit by bit I am replacing all the things we left behind to start our new live here and have been looking at a pressure canner and saw that electric ones are only about a tenner more than the stove top ones.

Are they any good? Any easier? Safer?

some electric pressure canners, are good [and actually aproved for pressure canning]
some are not so good.
The "not so good" ones cycle off and on, reducing the heat/temperature intermittently throughout the cycle.
If you buy one with a pressure gauge, you are usually fine for canning with it. [and you can see what is going on in there]
It is usually the ones that don't have a gauge, that have troubles, [and are not "aproved"]

The ones that cycle up and down, often don't achieve the desired temperature, for the prescribed time.
[and there is no way for you to know that your food, was not "pressure canned" properly. ]
