I had never heard of them, so had to Google... Seems they have pretty much dropped off the map on this side of the Atlantic. Pity, they look like nice rabbits.

They're an interesting breed, but so long as there is a black satin in showrooms in this country, I'm guessing that Europe is where they'll stay.

This was recently asked on the rare breeds rabbit yahoo group and I guess the Alaskan was turned into the black Havana in the states. Seems like ARBA has a habit of lumping these unique breeds that happen to look like each other into the same breed. Too bad, really. It would be useful to retain these separate breeds and varieties.
